History is full of examples that show how a single person can make a difference and change history. Was not the Prophet (saw) all alone? Did not Muhammad Iqbal alone change the course of history by his “Two Nation Theory”? Did not Malcolm X change the history of this country? This truth of history always has been and always will be. A single person can make a difference. So, the first step is to believe that change is possible. Does the Quran not give examples of prophets who were determined to make positive change?
The second step is to have a vision. What is it that is going to change about the world? As Muslims can you envision Islam in America? Why not! We live in the world of “war of ideas”, and if Islam is the best idea then it will naturally win. Can you envision Islam being the hottest topic in the media, not as a negative stereotyped image but rather a positive and as a natural phenomenon? If you can envision Islam growing in America then you can truly be of those who can change history. Islam in America is a very small idea compared to the Prophet vision who said Islam will one day enter every house in the world.
The third step is to have clear plan that will have a definite impact on the society around you. The Prophet said, “The best intelligence is a clear consequential plan”
The fourth step is to have absolute determination; to be brave and daring, to be a man of intentions, to carry an agenda; to be strong as steel in your vision.
The fifth step is to have patience and to struggle hard. Any man of substance finds himself in an adventure of many tests and hardships.
No real change in the world has have ever occurred with out these five steps. These are clear steps of change given in the Quran; our steps of success in this life and the next.
Insha Allah, Al Furqaan Foundation can make history. We envision that Islam will become a strong culture in America and have its global impact. We envision that this “Buzz” of Islam can begin by sending a Quran to every house in this country. To every hospital, for people who have lost hope to now begin to reflect upon God. To every hotel to show that the Quran is also a holy scripture. Yes, we believe this and other activities can create the proper buzz to get people thinking about Islam. We have a clear plan, to send the Qurans zipcode by zipcode, by having a proper understanding of the demographics and catering to them. Having a response team and a beautiful website that answers general questions on Islam.
We envision this to create a proper buzz in America and Allah is our helper.
Addison, IL — 1st of Rabi I, 1428 — Al-Furqaan Foundation launches its door-to-door Qur’an delivery campaign to a complete zip code in Naperville, IL. In the next few days about 15,300 copies with a letter in a plastic bag will be hung on each door in the zip code. This is the 1st in a series of distributions
to take place across the country as each household in America receives a free English copy.
“This is a historic step for US based Muslims, as we work to bridge the gap in understanding of Islam with our non-Muslim neighbors. Our effort is meant to clarify any prejudices and misconceptions one might have about Islam from the source of inspiration for over a billion Muslims around the world,” said Wajahat Sayeed, Founder and President of Al-Furqaan Foundation.
Al-Furqaan Foundation, having launched its Hotel room distribution a while ago, is now also incorporating the household distribution under its belt, with other efforts under way to place copies of the Qur’an in hospitals and other residential facilities such as retirement homes, nursing homes, etc.
“With these efforts, we look forward to a national dialogue about Islam. Dialogue will help for a better understanding and understanding will lead to trust,” said Omar Baloch, Al-Furqaan Foundation staff.
Al-Furqaan Foundation is a non-profit dawah organization based in Chicago. Al-Furqaan Foundation publishes and prints Islamic material. Its objective is to deliver a copy of the translation of the Qur’an to every household, hotel and hospital room, college dorm, and retirement home in America.
The English only copy (no Arabic) is a modern English translation that has been translated and printed in the US and has been approved by the highest Islamic authorities such as the Al-Azhar University in Egypt. For questions, comments, or concerns please go to our websites www.al-furqaan.org
Lombard, IL — 1st of Ramadhan, 1424 – Al-Furqaan Foundation launches its operations on the auspicious occasion of the beginning of the holy month of Ramadhan, “…in which was sent down the Qur’an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (between right and wrong) – 2:185.
Al-Furqaan derives inspiration from many references in the Qur’an and Sunnah about the duty of every Muslim to deliver the message to all mankind. Acting upon the Qur’anic injunction “Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong…” – 3:104, the Foundation, with donations from Muslims, will serve as a conduit within an organizational framework to deliver a FREE copy of the Qur’an to every household, every hotel room, and other group residential facilities such as retirement homes, college dormitories, etc. in the United States.
“Muslims have to wake up and realize that the Day of Judgment is a win or lose proposition. And on that day when every Non-Muslim will attempt to put the blame on every Muslim friend, neighbor, colleague, etc. and say that we had the message but we did not deliver it to them, then on that day we will lose!” said Wajahat Sayeed, President and one of the founding members of Al-Furqaan. “Ask yourself these questions: How many non-Muslim neighbors do you have? How many have you attempted to give a copy of the Qur’an to? Why have you not? People have expressed a variety of reasons, including fear, intimidation, rejection, etc.”
Al-Furqaan has taken that fear, intimidation and other reasons, out of the delivery process to provide a mechanism to fulfill every Muslim’s obligation. Al-Furqaan’s goal is for every $2.00 received in donations from a Muslim, a Qur’an will be sent out to a non-Muslim – a phenomenal value achieved by streamlining the delivery and logistics infrastructure. Within the $2.00 we are able to not only publish a translation that is aesthetically appealing (quality of cover, paper, print, etc.), but handle the mailing of each copy and run our operations. At this price most people can’t even buy a copy of Yusuf Ali’s English translation!!
“If people donate only $100 a month, then we will deliver 50 Qur’ans, InshaAllah. That $100/month translates to 600 Qur’ans in a year, from one person alone!!! Imagine what we could do if each person reading this release decided to commit a $100/month and then agreed to raise funds just for their Zip Code either by themselves or through their mosque or local organization. Can’t do it in a month, do it in a few months, or a year – the point is, if we take an active role in making it happen and we do it consistently throughout our lives, InshaAllah, today it is the US, tomorrow it could be the whole world”, says Sayeed with deep conviction and enthusiasm.
“We hope and pray to Allah (SWT) that the Muslim Ummah realizes this obligation and help themselves by generously donating to distribute copies of the final guidance to mankind – the Criterion with which people will be judged on the day of Judgment – to every corner of the United States”.
Al-Furqaan Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization in the US and is in the process of getting its 501(c)(3). It has been organized for the sole purpose of doing Dawah through the Holy Qur’an.
